Interview: Helos Bonos

“I'm a music producer who identifies as "genre fluid". Been playing, writing, and producing since the 80s. I enjoy doing different styles of music. I like to blend genres in the hopes of creating a new hybrid. I'm sometimes experimental and hate following trends or trying to sound like existing artists. I prefer to create a unique sound while still maintaining a commercial quality. I play electric guitar and bass and program all my own instrumental parts. I can take any vocal, good or bad, and make that person sound like a rock star.”

What inspires your music?

Pretty simple. I'm inspired by good music. Any genre. I have eclectic taste.

Who are some of your influences?

OMG so many to name. I have eclectic taste that spans over 5 decades and a few genres. So, here's the shortlist off the top of my head:

Rock:
Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, Alice in Chains, White Zombie, Gorillaz, Nothing But Thieves, Royal Blood, Highly Suspect, QOTSA,

Pop:
Arianna Grande, Camilla Cabello, Dua Lipa, Doja Cat, Glass Animals, Foster the People, Lorde, 21 Pilots, Mark Ronson, Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Purity Ring

Electronic:
Dubstep, Drum & Bass, Breakbeat, Triphop, Downbeat, Chill, Meat Beat Manifesto, Boom Boom Satellites, Squarepusher, Supreme Beings of Leisure, Groove Armada, Venetian Snares, Portishead, Tycho

What are some of your favorite memories from your career?

Ah there is nothing like playing in a live band. I cherish the moments of rehearsals and being onstage.

What are you most excited to bring to your fans next?

After I have marketed Liar as much as I can, I'll get back to working on a pop song that I started a while back

which I'm pretty excited about. That will most likely be by next release within a few months.

What are your goals for this upcoming year?

At this moment, I'll be promoting and plugging hard at getting Liar out to as many ears as possible. Then, as mentioned previously, I'll get going on my next pop song. I have a few more song ideas after that as well I'll be starting. Also, of course, any new clients that have songs ready to go. I love working with other people's song ideas and taking them from a rough idea crappy cell phone recording and turning it into a polished masterpiece.

How can your fans and our readers best support you right now?

The simplest way to support me, and it won't cost you a nickel, is to follow all my socials and Spotify and sign up to my email list. Of course, if you like my songs, tap the green heart!
